Our founders had one goal in mind when opening the Utah Valley Counseling doors in 2013—Provide the absolute best therapy available and offer our clients unrivaled service. Since then, Utah Valley Counseling has become known as an exceptional provider of a wide variety of clinical services, including ethical and research-backed work related to compulsive sexual behaviors, which people might call sexual addiction treatment or help for problematic sexual behaviors.

Our therapy services also include treatment for relational trauma (sometimes called betrayal trauma), usually experienced by partners of those struggling with problematic sexual behaviors (including unwanted, compulsive pornography use) or those who have engaged in an extramarital affair. Our trained and licesned clinicians treat a wide variety of presenting concerns and offer eating disorder treatment, marriage counseling, help for depression, anxiety and other mental health struggles. We also have many therapists trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy to treat PTSD and trauma. Each of our providers has a core set of specializations and areas of expertise. We match clients with providers who will be meet their needs.

Especially with the rise of COVID-19, we want to remind our clients and prospective clients that we do offer HIPAA-compliant, secure, teletherapy options to allow you to continue to receive the help you need without having to leave your home or place of employment.

What is online counseling?

Online counseling (also known as video counseling, telemedicine, or teletherapy) is a commonly used alternative to in-person therapy or counseling. Online counseling is live, face-to-face counseling using HIPAA-compliant video technology that you can access on any mobile device, laptop, or desktop computer. Almost everything about online counseling is the same as in-office visits, with the addition of improved convenience.

What are the benefits of online counseling?

  • You can see your therapist from any private location–including your home or office
  • Reduced time away from family or work–you no longer need to travel to see your therapist
  • Our office can bill most insurances for online counseling in the same way we bill for in-person visits
  • You can still see your therapist, even if you are unable to leave your home

Call or text our office at 801-407-4134 to schedule an online counseling appointment today.
